Histoka was born from an unlikely order placed with a Moldovan craftsman.
No website. No shop. No secure payment. An Instagram page, a few messages, then a transfer via Western Union. The kind of purchase where you cross your fingers (and other things) harder than your sword belt.
Everything went fine. The piece was beautiful. The craftsmanship was real. But the observation was clear: in our world of enthusiasts, the best craftspeople are sometimes the least visible.
My name is Mathias Sanchez, passionate about History since childhood and a graduate in Art History and Archaeology from ENSL.
Reenactor, HEMA practitioner for several years and president of a nice little club, I know both the beauty of these worlds and their very concrete struggles: finding the right equipment, identifying a reliable craftsman, securing a transaction, understanding whether a piece truly fits one's practice.
I created Histoka because I wanted the platform I wish I had found sooner.
A clear, specialised and safer space. A place where one can talk HEMA, Buhurt, Reenactment, craftsmanship and collecting without having to search through fifteen groups, three forums and a half-translated Instagram conversation.
Living History deserves a platform worthy of it.
